BERG PlayBase Climbing Frames in Northern Ireland
A steel frame, powder-coated over a zinc layer, with a run of monkey-bar rungs across the top. Accessories hang from carabiner points on the frame and can be swapped. Four frames from €999, in Black or Green.
The four frames
All four are 1m deep and 2.45m high, take a maximum total load of 400kg, are for ages 3 and up and carry the CE mark. The frame warranty is 10 years, 13 when registered with BERG. Each end of a free-standing frame is a tumble bar or a ladder: TL is one of each, TT is two tumble bars and LL is two ladders. The Medium and Large are sold in all three.

What fits which frame
Most accessories fit every frame. The exceptions:
- Hammock: the Large frame only.
- Platform and slide: the Medium, Large and Extra Large, not the Wall.
- Climbing net and soccer goal: made in M, L and XL to match the Medium, Large and Extra Large.
How many swing-type accessories hang at once depends on the frame: one or two on the Wall, two on the Medium, three on the Large, four on the Extra Large.
Questions about the PlayBase
Does a PlayBase need concrete?
No. The Medium, Large and Extra Large are held by base sections anchored in the ground, with no concrete. The Wall frame fixes to a load-bearing brick or block wall, not to a fence, timber panel or hollow partition.
What do TL, TT and LL mean?
Each end of a free-standing frame is a tumble bar or a ladder. TL is one tumble bar and one ladder, TT is two tumble bars and LL is two ladders, for monkey-bar style climbing. The Medium and Large are sold in all three and the prices differ.
Which accessories fit which frame?
Most fit every frame. The hammock fits the Large only. The platform and slide fit the Medium, Large and Extra Large, not the Wall. The climbing net and soccer goal come in M, L and XL to match those three frames.
What ages is the PlayBase for?
The frames are for ages 3 and up. The baby seat can be used from 9 months with an adult pushing. The fitness accessories are for ages 14 and over.
How much space does a PlayBase need?
Every frame is 1m deep and 2.45m high, and the widths run from 1.2m to 4.9m. BERG's manual gives the free space each frame needs around it, and we check that against your garden in the free consultation.
